9P - Shiner Scale

COLOR NAME: Shiner Scale
COLOR CODES: 9P, P
LURE(S) PICTURED: Midget Digit Spook (9020P), River Runt Spook Floater (9409P), Game Fisher (5509P), Zig-Wag (8309P)
DESCRIPTION:

Black face and spine on silver body with large pink to white scales on side and small white scales on belly; gold eyes. Introduced in 1933 as a color for River Runt Spooks. Color code changed to "P" in 1946. On early wood lures, the scale color was more gold than silver but still had the pronounced pink color on either side. One variation of this color lacks the pink scale side pattern as shown in the picture of the Midget Digit Spook. This variation appears mainly in the plastics.

In 1962, the eye color changed to a white eye and the belly color was solid white.
