9PBH or PBH - Blue Herring

COLOR NAME: Blue Herring
COLOR CODES: 9PBH, PHB
LURE(S) PICTURED: Giant Jointed Vamp (7350PBH), Basser (8559PBH), Dowagiac Spook (9100PBH)
DESCRIPTION:

Giant Jointed Vamp: White body with a blue scale pattern sides changing to pink scale pattern on lower sides, solid white belly, black spine and face. This color is very similiar to Shiner Scale but with blue scales instead of silver. This is a uncataloged color for this lure though it is cataloged for other Heddon lures.

In the late 1970's and early 1980's, the Japanese tackle distributor, Smith, had Heddon's Dowagiac Spooks re-issued (last cataloged in the Heddon's U.S. catalogs in 1962). One of the colors was PBH as shown which has a silver scale belly pattern. Note the re-issued model has eye screw hardware rather than the standard Heddon surface or 1 piece hardware so are easily distinguishable from the original versions.
