NBL or 02 - Black Shiner or Nickel, Black Chrome or Black Chrome

COLOR NAME: Black Shiner or Nickel, Black Chrome or Black Chrome
COLOR CODES: NBL or 02
LURE(S) PICTURED: Lucky 13 Spook (2525NBL), Super Spook (X925602)
DESCRIPTION:

Shiny silver, chrome or nickel plate body with black spine, black face, fine black scales on sides, solid silver belly and yellow or white eyes. This is a cataloged color for this and several other Heddon lures, c. 1970's. The Nickel, Black Chrome color along with 5 other 'chrome' colors were introduced in Heddon's 1971 catalog for a number of other Heddon lures. The colors included NPY (Yellow Chrome), NPR (Red Chrome), NFD (Green Shad Chrome), VGS (Gold/Brown Chrome) and VRB (Rainbow Chrome). In addition, Heddon assigned a different series number to every lure produced in the Chrome color, i.e., '2500' was the standard series number for the Lucky 13 Spook but in a Chrome color, it was 2525. That series number continued to 1974 and then Heddon reverted back to the standard series number for the lure(s).

Starting in the early 1990's, some colors were assigned a number and this color was identified as "02". (Picture of Super Spook from 2004 Heddon catalog).
